  1. Give Tradier a call, they might be able to help you 980-272-3880
  2. The leveraged ETFs are menat as a short term trading instrument. You really should read up on beta decay and drift in these, before deciding going in long term. I don't think it's a good idea, there are some unhedgable risks in these instruments. Besides, even in a very classic 60/40 mix, somewhere around 85% of the portfolio risk is equity risk, do you really feel you need to increase that? I would rather think the opposite and try to diversify over more asset classes with different, lowly correlated return profiles.
  3. tradier works with ONE. Seems like the issue is with IB
  4. @Markuse this can be a very timeconsuming 'hobby' indeed. Hope to see you back soon!
  5. @cwelsh just to be clear: these would be new subsections in addition to the existing sections, not replacing the current setup?
  6. I have been a member since November 2018. I was up last year and am up this year. I do both SO and my own trades. SO has definitely helped me develop my trading skills and the community here is a great help. Even if my returns aren't equal to the performance posted, what is really important is that it is a very uncorrelated return to the rest of my portfolio.
  7. I had a couple of calls with them. Unfortunately they are not very willing to arrange a special offer for SO members. They feel they're relatively cheap and have the idea that their content is highly valuable to their customers and therefore justifies their pricing. After a few back and forths we got nowhere, they were very welcoming to signing a referral agreement. I send their offer to Kim but, not surprisingly, he wasn't willing to work with them on that basis.
  8. Seems they're offline again. Apparently it was a failed deployment of a downstream back-office system that caused a number of issues across the platform. When I was still the co-owner of a small IT firm back in the late 90s, we suffered one outage of a couple of hours and instantly decided that we would double our redundancy and from then on had 99.99% uptime. If we could do that as a very small outfit, I'm surprised taht this happens to Tradier. I know one of thier developpers a bit, let's see if he can tell me a bit more....
  9. @gf58 as with everything in investing: have a look at your overall portfolio exposure. and think about the goal of hedging (or not hedging). Do you need to minimize that risk and at what potential expense? There is quite a bit of interesting academic research on the topic. I would suggest Campbell, Viceira, and White (2003) and Campbell, Serfaty and Viceira (2009)
  10. I have never seen any naked options being used in SO strategies
  11. Give them a call, I would be surprised if they can't open accounts for The Netherlands. I got a special set of documents for international account openings when I opened my account with them.
  12. I hasd that same issue when I was with Lynx, then went with Tastyworks and later added Tradier. To the best of my knowledge there are no real low cost brokers in Europe that offer good options abilities.
  13. I agree you can't wait for better data and not having hospital beds available for those in need is something no politician can afford. I just wonder why nobody had a scenario ready for something like this. Taleb mentioned this issue in his 2007 book, so he actually sees this as a white swan event and says governments were just ill prepared.
  14. Actually I don't think the numbers for Sweden look taht bad. Just to compare Sweden with Belgium, population wise the difference is not huge (Sweden 10M, B11.5M) but the deathtoll in Sweden is 2586 whereas the number for belgium is 7594. I'm sure there are measurement errors, but 300%? If you include The Netherlands (population 17M) in that mix, which has a lockdown, but much less stringent than Belgium, you'll find a deathtoll of 4795.
  15. I wholeheartedly agree Kim. My biggest fear was never the virus, but the ease with which a completely dystopian society was created, nearly overnight. It was hardly countered and all becuase it was 'for the greater cause'. I'm no medical expert, but the initial work from Imperial college was shoddy and not peer reviewed. Decisions were made without further consultation and with a pretty narrow vie, given the harshness of the measures taken. On a daily basis I see the news making a mess of figures and comparing apples and oranges, which makes it hard to counter with facts as well.
  16. His 13F shows positions in the following: ALPHABET INC BLACKBERRY LTD CENOVUS ENERGY INC COVETRUS INC GAMESTOP CORP NEW MAXAR TECHNOLOGIES INC QORVO INC SPORTSMANS WHSE HLDGS INC TAILORED BRANDS INC
  17. Dr Michael Burry, (yes the one from The BIg Short) was quite clear in his views about the entire lockdown and his views caused a major tweetstorm. Quite well summarized by Bloomberg https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-04-07/michael-burry-slams-virus-lockdowns-in-controversial-tweetstorm
  18. I'm in Europe and trading hours run across my working day, commute and family time. I don't think you need to be behind your computer continuously, but you will need time to learn the strategies and adapt positions if the market has moved away from the official trade entry. I think that the hour of market time you have available is little, but depending on your perseverence not impossible. You could also try and mimic the strategies in Asian markets. The think you can't (and shouldn't) do is treat this as an alert service.
  19. Maybe I am misreading you, but it seems that should work witrh OT-OCO.I have to say that I am no fan of tradehawk at all. Am actually considering moving to ONE with Tradier.
  20. I use Tradier with Tradehawk and can actually set OCO orders. It's probably not as extensive as the IB version, but it gets the job done.
  21. I would suggest you take Gavin McMasters course in Iron Condors. Gavin is a guest contributor here and specialises in Iron Condor trades.
  22. $10/mo might be possible, but it limits you to the evry minimalistic Tradier website as a trading tool. I would suggest you assume $60/mo to include tradehawk. It's still an amazing offer.
  23. I opened with them late last year, now have both TW and Tradier. Tradier is a bit more cumbersome to use on the mobile though, given that we both travel quite a bit that is actually a real shortcoming
  24. Why not? They open international accounts for Belgian residents.
  25. I have used IB, but switched to TW and am currently using Tradier/Tradehawk and TW. If you travel a lot and need mobile access, I would probably avoid Tradier, the tradehawk mobile app is nowhere near as intuitive and easy to use as either the IB or TW versions. The desktop app is actually not bad, although the IB version is much better.
