Non-US Investors

Recommended Posts

I frequently get questions on, if I can manage, or help manage, investments for non-US clients -- and the short answer is yes, but it depends on where investors are located and what they want to invest in.

If an investor wanted to invest in Texas Residential Lending (Texas Residential Lending Update - General Board - SteadyOptions), which is currently yielding 11% a year and is an extremely safe investment, we are setup to accept offshore investors in any amount of $50,000 or more.  Off shore clients do not have to worry about US taxes, as our offshore arm is through BVI and is registered there.  Any investor can invest.

If an investor likes Anchor, they can invest in Soteria (which actually performs better than Anchor itself), as we also have a BVI arm.  We can accept any accredited investor here.  Soteria is on pace to have fixed all of its issues from last year (getting hurt by declining volatility and declining markets) as it no longer uses the diagonal to pay for the hedge.  This means we will have beat the S&P (our benchmark) in 3/4 years and in that one off year, been within a couple of points.

If an investor wants normal advisory services -- then that is HIGHLY dependent on where they are located.  We cannot accept anyone from Canada, Australia, or the like UNLESS they establish a US entity or a BVI entity (or an entity in another country that we are allowed to do business with).  This is because your LOCAL securities laws prohibit it.  This is highly dependent on where you may be located.
