Christof+ Posted April 26, 2023 Author Posted April 26, 2023 Looks like there is an issue with missing straddle charts for quite a number of symbols. i am currently investigating the issue. Quote
Christof+ Posted April 26, 2023 Author Posted April 26, 2023 Website is back to normal. All issues should be resolved by now. 1 Quote
rigulator Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Hello @Christof+, I just found your Real-Time RV Tool. So I reached out for a Office 2021 license but persistently ran into the same problem (see screenshot below): I followed the instructions on your website but found my available settings of the tws API differing from those of your instructions (the first two). Furthermore I tried the stable and latest tws API version and the 32 and and 64bit Version of your spreadsheet, without any difference. I have a Windows 10 and Office 2021. Any idea or suggestions? poseidolginko Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Hello @Christof+. Would you mind looking at SNOW? The straddle & calendar graphs are missing all of the 2022 cycles. Also, what happened to the feedback tab? It's not on the earnings chart any more. Thanks. 1 Quote
Christof+ Posted May 15, 2023 Author Posted May 15, 2023 @poseidolginko Thanks for the headsup. SNOW is fixed. Please let me know any other symbol with missing data you may come across (Indeed, need to see where the feedback button went. Anyway, it is always fastest to reach me by mail at: chris@chartaffair.com) 1 Quote
poseidolginko Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Great, thanks @Christof+. All's well with SNOW. 1 Quote
Christof+ Posted May 15, 2023 Author Posted May 15, 2023 @rigulator, a message like this has been reported to me a couple of times over the months. Unfortunately, I am unable to resolve it, I have not experienced it on my machine. Sorry that I cannot be of more help here. I know for sure that the calls to the API follow the rules and are correct. I heard in one case that it helped to install the IB API in the root of C:. But that is more guessing than knowing. Quote
poseidolginko Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Hi @Christof+. I can't access any of the tabs or charts on the site. Can you look into this please? Thanks. Quote

poseidolginko Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Clearing of the cache didn't work unfortunately. Did notice in my account that I'm unsubscribed to the service as it expired today. Seems kind of strange, as I thought it would just auto-renew? Quote
Christof+ Posted June 6, 2023 Author Posted June 6, 2023 @poseidolginko Sorry for that. Your access is restored. That was a manual 'fat finger' on my part. Please try and let me know in case that is not working: chris@chartaffair.com 1 Quote
poseidolginko Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 Hi @Christof+. I noticed that LEVI is missing 9 cycles from the straddle chart graph. The last cycle on the straddle graph is Jan27/2021. This seems to coincide with the lack of implied move data for the missing 9 cycles. Can you please look into this? Thanks. Quote
Christof+ Posted June 26, 2023 Author Posted June 26, 2023 @poseidolginko Fixed, thanks for the heads-up! I notice kind of a 'data leak' which seems to affect just a handful of individual names in irregular intervals. Still investigating. 1 Quote
huntertw Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Just subscribed yesterday and appreciate all the data I can quickly review. I'm still getting the hang of SO trades after a hiatus-this should be very helpful. Anyway, I noticed RIVN looks quite a bit different than the official post from today. Many cycles appear to be missing. It is entirely possible this is my user error, but I thought I would highlight it here. This is what I see. Quote
Christof+ Posted August 7, 2023 Author Posted August 7, 2023 Hi @huntertw, Welcome and thanks for signing up. RIVN had some cycles missing. Thank you for the heads-up! They are now recalculated. Quote
huntertw Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Also, what time does data get updated? I had assumed after close, but I'm not seeing updates yet. (I'm sure this is somewhere in this thread, but I couldn't find it...) Quote
Christof+ Posted August 7, 2023 Author Posted August 7, 2023 @huntertw Calculation of a day's data starts as soon as all necessary data is available. It is refreshed before the open and some data is added continously. 1 Quote

The backtest screener is a great addition but I find it hard to use practically. One idea may be to have a custom screen called "Today's Opportunities" or "This Week's Opportunities" which would be a pre-built custom screen showing all potential trades with: -min. weekly volume of 500 contracts -avg. return greater than 5% -median return greater than 5% -RVrel is less than +5% -opening date (T-X) is Today or This week dedpending on the screen and regardless of exit date This would show you quickly if there are any potential trades to be opened today or this week Thanks again. Dragging up an old post, but curious if this is possible in the current iteration of the tool. I've been trying to figure out a daily/weekly routine to get better at searching for opportunities and this seemed like a reasonable set of criteria to test out. I'm not sure I can actually do it though based on the mean and median return criteria. Is there a field in there that captures those ideas? Quote
Christof+ Posted August 10, 2023 Author Posted August 10, 2023 @huntertw Thanks for the ideas. I had many discussions about it. Bottom line is that it is so straightforward to define 'opportunities'. Hence, there is not one set of criteria which all agree on. Quote
B15K3 Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 @Christof+ Site seems to be down. Can you check please? Quote
Christof+ Posted October 4, 2023 Author Posted October 4, 2023 @B15K3 Thanks for the headsup. I am aware of it. The reason is an issue our hosting company has with its database system. I am in contact with them and they are working on it. I hope it will be resolved until trading starts. I keep you updated. Quote
Christof+ Posted October 4, 2023 Author Posted October 4, 2023 @B15K3 The site is back, the only thing currently not working is the Upcoming Earnings Page. This should also be resolved shortly. The Earningscharts Page, however, is accessible. 1 Quote

Christof+ Posted December 1, 2023 Author Posted December 1, 2023 HI @B15K3, Thanks for the headsup. Currently, there are some issues with imported options data from around the Thanksgiving weekend. For that reason, there is data missing for the last days for a number of symbols at the moment. I am working on resolving it. I will then check and if necessary add any of the symbols you mention. Latest Monday all should be back to normal. Sorry for the inconvenience. Quote
unkybill Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 Interested in subscribing, perhaps. I do calendar spreads. Can you send a sample chart of a calendar spread's performance prior to earnings date? Quote
B15K3 Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Hi, the above mentioned symbols are still not active or don't have an earnings date. Can you take another look? Quote
Christof+ Posted December 5, 2023 Author Posted December 5, 2023 @B15K3 Sorry for the delay. There was a larger issue with data imports which is solved by now. Expect the symbols to be live tomorrow at trading start. @unkybill I am afarid it is not done with a sample chart. I invite you to become a regular member and see for yourself. Quote
Christof+ Posted December 6, 2023 Author Posted December 6, 2023 @B15K3 quick headsup: symbols should be live within a few hours. 1 Quote
B15K3 Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 @Christof+ it seems like there is no new data for the past 5 days. Could you please check? Quote
Christof+ Posted January 8, 2024 Author Posted January 8, 2024 I will check as soon as I get to a computer. Thanks for the heads-up @B15K3 Quote

Vkleniko Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 just signed up to ChartAffair. @Christof+ can you please provide definitions for these fields. No text bubble shows up when hovering over. Thanks. Quote
Christof+ Posted March 19, 2024 Author Posted March 19, 2024 HI @Vkleniko Thanks for signing up, Sorry to see your post only now. There should be tooltips on all fields. The first column you refer to is the calender RV for a put calendar with a month distance between both legs (can be 4 or 5 weeks, depending on the month). 'RV45pw just shows the number of weeks used in the calculation. RV45c is for calls accordingly. 1 Quote

corrado Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Hi @Christof+ .. first of all congratulations for your tool. I subscribed just yesterday but I find it very very powerful ! I quickly ask you a doubt. I try to export the data of the output tables (the ones with heat map) in Excel .. but seems impossible. The only way seems to do a screenshot and then import the data in excel from the .png file (but often the data are not correctly read). Is it possible to add a button to export those table into a CSV or XLSX file ? Thanks a lot and have a nice day ! Quote
poseidolginko Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 Hi @Christof+. Can you look into the straddle charts for GME? It's missing the Dec/2023 and Mar/2023 cycles. Please advise. Thanks. Quote
