Selling options in low IV.

Recommended Posts

Lets say you sell a put with a strike price of $55 in a stock with low IV will you still profit on the put as long as it doesn't go below $55? I know when buying options if you buy at time of high IV and sell when IV is low even if it goes your way you will still lose due to IV crush. Thanks.

You will profit and keep the the premium you have received as long as the stock price is above $55 when the option expires.
