  1. Thanks for this Kim. It looks like VXC had a pretty good year in 2015, and a large portion of the gains likely came from the depreciation of the loonie (as this is an unhedged ETF). The exchange rate looks to be the wind in the sails of a lot of Canadian ETFs that track the S&P 500 (i.e. VFV, ZSP, etc.) Given the $0.70 loonie, is your preference to use ETFs that are hedged or unhedged for currency exchange for long-term investing?
  2. Thanks for this info! How do you determine the accuracy of the Prophet charts? Also, what studies do you use in Prophet to determine market bias and direction of the indexes?
  3. The default secure login system for IB requires a two-factor authentication process (a password plus a security card code to be entered). Do members here use both? Carrying the security card can be cumbersome, and can be misplaced. Sometimes the codes need to be entered several times when trading with the Webtrader platform. Does the convenience of disabling the security card code outweigh the risks?
  4. Hi Chris, do you have a stop in the stock price where you would exit the trade if the level was breached? I'm trying to determine my maximum risk.

Mikael, I recall that you are in Canada. Have you heard anything about the Chartered Investment Manager designation? I don't know much about it, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
  6. Thanks for the update! Hopefully we can get some answers regarding their routing/ fills before committing real money. I have accounts all over the place, and would like to consolidate.
  7. I'm from Canada as well, and I haven't had any luck negotiating with Questrade. They don't seem to fear losing our business. I'm with IB, and will just eat the tax expense until I find something else. I'm currently looking into Virtual Brokers. They have a $1.00 USD per option contract structure, but I'm not sure if they allow USD in TFSAs.
  8. Have many people been paying less than $1 on commissions for your recent fills with IB? For the past month or so, I've noticed that most of my fills are with either $1.07 or $1.52 in commissions. Last year, it was not uncommon to pay only $0.27.
  9. Can anyone confirm if Think or Swim is available for Canadian residents? I am very interest in the back testing research that is referenced on this forum.
  10. Kim, I echo everyone else's statements on the awesome service you provide, and congratulations on an absolutely stellar July. Reviewing the year so far, it appears that February and August were low-volume, low-volatility market environments. Are these two factors cyclical throughout the year, or do they depend on larger macro factors?
