I'm in on the calendar at 5.45, I felt comfortable going ahead and getting in because I've been tracking AAPL for a while.
-
I just looked at my statement it doesn't have commission totals listed.. I trade all of the SO trades at a $1000 per trade allocation, plus about 8 RIC a month at a $1000 per trade allocation. So not a huge amount... I made sure to mention IB and said I was looking for something b/w .70 and $1 and would consolidate my money and my number of contracts traded would double.. Remember this is about a month of activity on there at the above levels.

Don't want to spend too much time off topic on this thread, feel free to inbox me if you guys have more quesitons. I have 2 accounts IB and TOS, and I have been mirroring trades in both accounts for about 2 months. Plus a few additional GOOG and AAPL IC's and Bflys in my TD account. I called Ameritrade yesterday and said I had 2 accounts and was paying b/w .7 and $1 on commissions at IB, and would move my account over to TD if they could get me between .7 and $1 with no flat fee. I also said I would double the number of contracts I traded (I allocate $1000 per trade so with the 2 accounts I was doing $2000 per trade). They said the office of the President would have to approve it, and called me the next day (today) and said it was approved, would take effect by Friday. I also don't have a very large amount of either account btw.. so it's more about contracts traded I think. IF you have more ?s inbox me.

Another great call.. nice 12% profit

There was a short period the trade was up very minimally. I'll hold as long as Tuesday close. I lower my profit target as monday and Tuesday roll along

Entered this afternoon on the 670/680/690 long bfly for 1.63, wanted to wait till after the jobs report and took a while to get filled Underlying was 680.
-
I'm going to hold off this week on this, due to the big jumps in Goog yesterday and today..
-
Did the calculations lost .07 on commission each way.. Would have been less on IB.
-
Entered the AAPL fly last Friday for 655/665/675 for 2.24 sold for 2.53 this am for 13%.. This includes commissions, so w/o comm (I am on TOS) probably another 2-3% gain.
-
I entered on Friday for a .50 credit and sold yesterday for .25... Nice Unfortunately I was was trying to get filled at the end of the day and only got 1 contract.
-
Small position in the 655/665/675 for 2.17...
-
waiting until friday speech to enter this week.
-
It was interesting I started showing gains, after it was well above the outside bfly.
-
So my AAPL closed today.. I was in at .45 out at .55.. I had a very small position so with comms. on TOS it was basically a $1 gain. I am going to try with the 10 pt spreads Thursday.

Ok I get that, but then they also show P/L for the same positions.. that has completely different numbers.. I'd put up a screenshot or attachement but don't know how. Same open positions, different numbers. -

Can someone explain the difference b/w P/L and unrealized P/L to me. I attached a screenshot.o ok no I didn't lol -
Well we're getting close to market close and my 660/665/670 bfly is sitting pretty much breakeven. We'll see what Monday brings.
-
So with aapl sitting in the middle of my bfly this should start to make money as we get closer to close today
-
Aapl is sitting right in the middle of my 660/665/670 at 664 and I am pretty much even right now.
-
as for waiting for paper trading... that's why I went with a small position <$100... to me this is like playing black on the roulette wheel... plus I feel like you learn more when you are actually in the trade (whatever the amount) then doing it on paper... although paper testing is very important also
