  1. @SureTrader mentioned HR Trader back in December in a comment I just ran across. They seem very interesting (only $25 for unlimited trading per month and that fee can be waived). However, there is scant information about them on the web. They are members of FINRA and SIPC. Their website is: HRTrader.com Does anyone have any experience with HR Trader or have you heard anything about them?
  2. This morning I got an email from Tradier saying that I have been labeled as a pattern day trader and I have some questions. First, does each leg of an option trade count as a separate day trade? The only way I can see that I made four or more day trades in five days is that I had two double calendar trades that I opened and closed on the same day. One was on Friday and one was yesterday. I did leg out of these so I'm not sure if those each count as separate trade also. Any clarification on the rule as it applies to multiple legs of an option trade would be appreciated. Second, Tradier said in their email that I could request an exception to this determination if an exception hasn't been requested within the past 90 days. Does anyone know what is required to obtain this exception? Third, how should I try to avoid this designation in the future? It's not really a problem to make the deposit to get over $25k, but I'd rather keep this account small. Edit: Also, I got another email from Tradier this morning that says that I have options in my account that are expiring today. There are no options that expire on Tuesday to my knowledge and none that I own. Did anyone else get an email like this? I
  3. @Djtux Another question: in the Straddle Table, what are the Returns based on (timing of entry and exit wise)? Are they T-20 to T-0 or something else?
  4. @Djtux I'm sure its in here somewhere, but I can't find it. On the Scanner, the double calendar RV's, what Deltas are those based on?
  5. I'm just wondering what happens to options if/when a stock or ETF splits or reverse splits. How are the options impacted? I'm not looking at anything in particular, the thought just popped into my head this morning.
  6. When using TOS Analyze function you can change the Volatility under Vol Step. The Step is based on % change. If you choose this function and say increase the volatility by 5% which of the following does this translate to: a) the overall volatility went up by 5% (say from 20% to 25%) or b) the percent change in volatility went up by 5% (so from 20% to 21%, which is a 5% change in the volatility percentage). I'm just trying to figure out how to interpret the results.
  7. I had read on here that Tradier didn't allow calendar spreads with index options (SPX and RUT). I was wondering if this was still the case so I email them this morning and this was there response: So that's unfortunate. But also raises a question, I thought Tradier cleared through Apex, which is the same as TOS and TastyWorks and I've never had a problem placing index calendar spreads with them, and I don't have near $300k in those accounts. However, as to their customer service, I got a response to my email in about 5 minutes!
  8. It looks like FirstTrade has moved to $0 trades for stocks and options. https://www.firstrade.com/content/en-us/aboutus/press?page=pr180823 Does anyone use FirstTrade or have any opinion on them. I asked and they don't have a test account or paper trading account so I have no idea what their platform looks like. Wondering what peoples opinions of it are.
  9. @Djtux Just subscribed to the service last week and its very useful so far. One request I would have is to add the RV information for the Calendar to the scanner. Right now for the straddles there are S. Cur RV, S. Avg Cur RV, S. Avg RV T=0, S. Low Cur RV, S. Low RV T=0, S. Low RV T=0 and others which are extremely helpful to see any anomalies in the pricing by just glancing at the scan results. I would think it would be helpful to have that same information for the Calendars. Also, for anyone thinking of subscribing, go back and read this whole thread. You get a sense for how they are always adding features and will get a good overview of how to use the service and some of the features. Reading through it over the weekend a couple of light bulbs went on for me (oh, so that's what the blue line on the straddle graph means, very helpful).
  10. Is there anyone trading from within the ONE platform with Tradier and how is that working? I think I've read that Kim and some others use ONE for analysis but actually enter their orders on the IB platform.
