Would someone with CML access mind backtesting ANET to see how well it performs for 7 Day and 3 Day PE Long calls? ANET reports 2/15 AC.

Yep, perfect. Thanks! Looks like a very low probability trade, good to know.

Thanks Maji. Looks like a pre-earnings straddle may be worth considering further. I was actually more curious about a plain 40 delta long call though, like the recent trades in this thread for NVDA, MAR, TTWO, etc.. Any chance you can rig up one of those backtests?

@NikTam would you mind running a backtest into a long call position into earnings for JD? They report Nov 13 BMO. I'm curious if they're a high probability trade. Thanks in advance!

I was having some of the same concerns as nowadays more of my account is being allocated towards a generally bullish sentiment. Do you have any recommendations on good hedges to look into?

Same here, I opened Nov 10 $120 MAR calls at 2.20 earlier today on the dip. Here's to hoping for a gap up tomorrow and onward.

If anyone entered TTWO earlier this week, should be up pretty good right now. I entered Nov-17 108 calls for 3.1, up 44% at the moment. Thinking I'll just set a tight stop loss and see how much higher I can ride it.

Appreciate the thorough response! I actually work with engineers and product at a SaaS company myself so makes total sense to me. A simple voting and comment system for determining priority on enhancements sounds like an excellent way to capture feedback given I assume a very lean dev team, especially considering I'm sure the subscribers will all make for a helpful community. I like how the roadmap looks and it has probably convinced me to subscribe.

Agreed, it'd certainly be a very complicated algorithm to write, just thought it'd be a neat way to essentially combine price movement with the regular straddle RV chart to get the most accurate possible measure of straddle performances leading into earnings. I do use the price change charts in addition to the RV charts to get a rough sense of potential for gamma gains.

Hi @Djtux, would it be possible to share your list of planned enhancements? Are there any plans to provide the value of an ATM straddle bought X days out, as that specific straddle changes value leading up to earnings? As opposed to the current state which displays the value of an ATM straddle, recentered on the underlying, each day. Hopefully that makes sense.

That sounds pretty incredible, would definitely love to see it when you're ready to share!

Thanks Darcy, I'll look into ONE. I've heard it mentioned here often, but didn't realize they also logged and tracked performance of your actual trades.

Does anyone have recommendations for how to best track the performance of the type of trades we do in SO? I currently use a Google spreadsheet I made which tracks the type of trade, initial cost basis, closing basis, total amount of commissions/fees, return (both including and excluding fees), etc.. it works okay, it just takes considerable manual entry and I have to fiddle with the formulas if it's a long position vs a short position. I'm sure people smarter than me have devised better ways of tracking options portfolio performance. Would love to hear about what others have done or used!
