Hi, I know that some of the members using Orats for backtesting. I am currently using CML TradeMachine. In general I am fine with CML TM but there are always some data issues that looks good from first view but sometimes it is simply not the reality. I am asking the experience with Orats? What are the advantages of Orats vs. CML Trade Machine?

@SBatch: I have cancelled the Creating Alpha subscription due to the not possibility to follow your trades. For me there were to much updates I could not follow always in time. I am stil using TradeHawk and Tradier. I am now thinking if it does make to follow Elephant. Will be there similar high activity as before?

I have set the base account in my IB as USD. At the beginning of the tax year you have your investment value in USD. You trade your account and at the end of the trade year you have gains or loss on your account from different trades (in USD). For the tax report I am currently using the standard IB activity report with the focus on the "realized gains" area. The USD amount of the entire gain is simply translated into EUR using the end of the year FX USD/EUR rate. I had no issues with "Finantzamt" on this issue the last years. One drawback is obviously you are exposed on USD FX risk.

Yes, I did the same trade, but slight different. Instead of the call I have opened a BCS. the idea is basically the same.

I am still registered users for Trademachine, not that I am always follow their recommendation but it is some kind of other information source. I am just curious how this tool is developing. Most of the trade recommendation are obviously directional but this is not bad by definition. I always check the entriy signal and validate with other pattern analysis, e.g. Trademachine tells me to enter a trade and I see that the trade did runaway couple days ago and now is locked at a resistance level. I would not enter this trade. But this depends on each personal style. I am basically using is as research tool than trading tool

But this not works, when you have sold positions. The position is shown as they are still there but the event box shows already that the fill (sold) is sucessfullly executed

Is there any release update document or similar?

To be honest it is difficult to see the P&L of closed positions in TradeHawk. You have to go to Apex. TradeHawk provides a very good risk view on each of your open positions (but not on overall - here IB really powerful). There is a functionality to load all your closed positions but the view is not really helpful. I have already asked for some kind of equity curve and better structuring. The development team of TradeHawk is very responsive. I think the platform will develop in near future. They announced a major update in couple of weeks. I am looking for that. The most annoying thing for me is that sometimes the trade execution or other key functionalities does not work. The tools seem like as it is frozen. I have to close the Command Center and re-start. This is the reason why I am saying that it looks like "raw" tool and needs some kind of maturity and bug fixing. The other thing is there are very interesting tools in TradeHawk I would love to use them but I did not understand how they work, especially they volatility scanner. I think for the time being it is good having IB as fall back.

I am also using since couple of weeks TradeHawk, there are good ideas but the tool is still some kind of in its infancy.

Does anyone using the HVOL charts and matrix in tradehawk? I was looking for a estimation of the current ivol vs historical but I am not sure if those tools really helpful

That means that you are short on this two stock with the given amount. Just buy the given amount when markets opens. If you are lucky the stocks opens with a gap down and you might make some money.
