I was also a former member and will probably return at some point. I did break even over a year of being a member, which was far better than any previous trading or systems used. I didn't go through any of these stages except the beginning enthusiasm and probably lost some money due to struggling with the IB platform, but I understood I needed to work harder to get successful. I didn't have the time and still don't, but like I said, I will probably return at some point. Kim is the best and has some ethics about these things. The only other service that I subscribe to as a lifetime member is Stock Gumshoe, which takes all of these crazy emails that try to lure folks into the next Amazon and investigates the clues to find the company. I believe Kim and the guy who runs that outfit are the best in the business.

Yes, the only way to accurately measure a trade is when it closes. How many times have we had an negative trade eventually go positive? Also, if we happen to have a losing month or two, then we are traders in the market. Anybody who does not expect an occasional losing month or two is living in a fantasy world.

Until tonight you can get a 30 day money back guarantee on a paid service : unusualactivity.net/win I always like to try out these services. I don't think it is a good way to trade, but with other considerations, it can be useful information along with regular trading actions. I always put a tickler on my calendar to cancel at then end of the period. If it hasn't paid for itself and more, I get rid of it. I asked if they had a filter, but they currently don't, but are developing it. Having such information might alert you to get out of a calendar early if someone bought a huge number of shares, calls or puts.

I got out of my trade this morning with some good profit, but not as much as I could have gotten had I waited awhile.
-
I had today's expiration. I gave myself a ten point cushion, which wasn't enough, so I had to roll down and out two weeks, but I will look at the chart and perhaps even go lower and further out next week. That was a risky day trade, as I found myself rolling with one minute to go until close.
-
Well, I rolled it down and out, so hopefully things will settle in the next week, but that was risky.
-
risky if it keeps dropping, but have a ten point cushion..

I think you can make a small amount in 1/2 hour of selling a put spread, which I just did.

Well done!

I joined Steady Options in January. I have learned so much in the short period of time I have been here; I still have many lessons to learn. I am in it for the long haul! When Kim suggests trading virtually for the first month I thought I was the one exception to that rule. After all, I had taken thousands of dollars in options education courses over many years. I believe greed plays into that psychology. Yet in January I lost as much as the SO portfolio gained during the month due to mostly sloppy entries and mistakes with complicated spread entries. I also couldn't get rid of my training in directional trading, so I kept making bets on certain stock options and stocks to go up or down. By February I didn't make many more entry mistakes. I finally jettisoned my directional trading for good over the last four months. Knowledge of technical indicators can help you sometimes with SO trades, but mostly we are trading volatility. The last 3 months have been real successful with a small loss last month, but August is looking promising. A second suggestion for newbies is what you hear all of the time here about not chasing. Yes, you may miss out on some great trades. Missing TSLA recently was painful, but sometimes you end up missing a loser, or at least what would have been a loser had you chased. Don't expect to come close to Kim's fills, particularly as a newby, but some folks who have been here awhile are doing great. They have learned the system and are making money on some of our high flyer spreads several times entering and exiting not by following Kim's official entries, but by knowing the behavior of certain spreads and knowing they will likely get a range entering and exiting that will repeat itself. They also sometimes will post other non-official trades that are profitable. They also will regularly anticipate Kim's fills on jump in early with better fills or wait and come in later with lower prices often scaling into trades. Experience is the only thing that will get you to the kind of returns Kim is getting! Even if you averaged over ten years half of what Kim gets your growth curve would be remarkable. If you could average 50% a year on a an eventual 100K (the maximum size Kim wants trading this system) you would be bringing in an extra 50K per year. Experienced traders- please add your wisdom! I am still learning so much!

Good work! Was that 18% before commissions? -

Kim, It's funny you're speaking of getting out a complicated trade like this one. I tried to exit legs on my virtual trade and there were no takers, so I finally gave up. -

That is why virtual trading is always preferable when learning complicated stuff. I did the same trade virtually just to watch the effects on each portion of the trade. -

By the way, I am out of the trade with around-11% and a boatload of commissions. Options House is happy! -

What a great education I am getting on this site. I will virtually trade this setup to see how it goes. Keep us informed Vancouver!
