ClearCut 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2021 Hello all! I have a question on fills using TWS when trading options. I was paper-trading using ThinkorSwim now due to cost learning Trader Workstation. I was having good fills in TOS but now switching over to TWS the fills are taking longer and very rarely fill. I then decided to try doing market orders to see if the trades would actually execute, but fills were terrible. So my question are slow fills and lack execution just due to paper trading? or do I need more patience and more frequent adjustment on the orders?(I trade on underlying stocks with high Volume and open interest always) Thanks in advance. ixero@20 134 Report post Posted June 12, 2021 I would say that TOS paper trading doesn't give you real life experience. I tried paper trading in both TOS and TWS before and I think TWS was much closer to the reality. So yes, it will take some time and patience to practice the trading skills. Options market is not as efficient as stock markets and getting a fill can cause frustration sometimes.
