raulk 1 Report post Posted April 21, 2015 So, this is funny. After placing one of our calendar spreads today, I noticed that one of the underlying PUT contracts was not being updated in IB TWS, and it was still showing yesterday's close price (prefixed with a 'c'). Interestingly, Time & Sales showed trades and Yahoo Finance also showed a different LAST price for that contract. After talking to IB Tech Support, it turns out that they don't update the LAST price of the contract if the trade belonged to a spread. That's what the yellow arrow means in the Time and Sales panel. Did you know that? This essentially means that I don't have a real-time P&L view into my spread... I'm flying blind...
Kim 8,043 Report post Posted April 21, 2015 While this is a bit annoying, but last prices are not too relevant anyway. What if the last price from one leg was from an hour ago and from another leg from the previous day? All you should care about is mid prices. As for P/L - no broker gives you good P/L tracking. Personally I'm using ONE software. OptionNET Explorer discounted offer
raulk 1 Report post Posted April 21, 2015 But how do you get an idea of where you are standing at? As part of a spread, I have a LNKD May01'15 265 PUT for which, according to IB, the last price was c14.48. However in the T&S I see that it last traded for 13.57. That's almost a 7% difference... Kim 8,043 Report post Posted April 21, 2015 You just look at mid prices, based on the mids of the individual legs. If you have ONE software, you don't have to worry about it, it does the job for you.
raulk 1 Report post Posted April 21, 2015 After speaking to IB Tech Support, I upgraded to TWS Beta which shows the Combos very nicely.

mmleinin 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 Hi, Kim. Do you route your IB orders through the ONE software? I just opened an IB account and want to know if this works as advertised. Thanks.
Kim 8,043 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 No I don't. You can ask Andy tomorrow if it works as advertised.
